Architectural Photography: Capturing the Essence
In the realm of architectural photography, the structures themselves remain immobile, yet the photographs possess the power to journey across the world. It is of paramount importance to partner with a photographer who can effectively convey not only the appearance but also the essence of being present in a space.
Crafting Dreams into Reality
Your architectural project represents years of dedication, transforming your client's dreams into tangible reality. The primary goal is to capture both the visual appeal and the emotional experience of the space. Our collaboration aims to encapsulate the spirit and environment of your project, exploring the myriad opportunities that can arise from our joint efforts.
The Art of Spending Time
To produce my best work, I believe in immersing myself in your project. Spending an entire day with the space allows me to understand its nuances and intricacies, enabling me to capture photographs that resonate with authenticity and depth.

Photography Process Overview
Photography Process Overview
Working together on a photography project is an exciting journey that involves careful planning and creativity. My process is broken down into three phases to ensure a seamless experience: before the shoot, on the day, and after the shoot. Here’s a detailed look at what you can expect during each stage.
1. Pre-Production
The pre-production phase is all about preparation and planning to ensure the shoot day goes smoothly and efficiently. During this step, we will focus on:
Pre-shoot phone conversations or meetings: These discussions help align our vision and expectations.
Advanced scouts: If applicable, scouting the location in advance can help identify the best spots for shooting.
Creating a contact list: A comprehensive list of all key contacts ensures clear communication.
Contingency planning: We'll address potential issues and plan for any unexpected circumstances.
Addressing logistical concerns: Any logistical hurdles will be tackled to ensure a hassle-free experience.
During this time, I will also send you the terms and conditions that must be agreed upon prior to the shoot, along with an invoice for a 50% retainer payment.
2. Shoot Day
Shoot day is where the magic happens! Upon arriving at the location, we'll start with greetings, a walkthrough, and getting settled in before the actual shoot begins.
Photography: I will capture as many images as possible, spending up to 60 minutes on each shot if necessary to ensure perfection.
Adjustments: To achieve the best possible images, I may move furniture and adjust or reposition items to enhance the décor.
3. Post-Production
Post-production is where all the hard work from pre-production and shoot day comes together to create stunning final images.
Timeframe: Allow up to seven business days for this part of the process to be completed.
Image Processing: The photographs will be culled, processed, and delivered in a final proof-sheet for your review and selection.
Enhancements: Processing typically involves color corrections, contrast and exposure adjustments, retouching distractions, and utilizing advanced Photoshop techniques to achieve the ambient look I am known for.
If additional processing is desired after the proof-sheet stage, a separate quote can be provided.
By understanding each phase of this process, you'll have a clear sense of what to expect and can look forward to a collaborative and creative experience.

Approach to Photography
Early Arrival, Late Departure
My approach to photography is rooted in dedication and thorough exploration. I make it a point to arrive early and leave late. This practice allows me to immerse myself fully in the location, ensuring that no stone—whether it be a slab of schist or a tiled paver—is left unturned. This deep dive into the sense of place is crucial from the very first moment I set foot on site.
Agility and Exploration
Being present for extended periods grants me the agility to capture a wide array of images throughout the day. It opens up opportunities for discovering unexpected moments, engaging with the natural variations of light and weather, and capturing the essence of the people who inhabit the space. Each element contributes to the story I aim to tell through my lens.
Flexibility and Thoroughness
Spending ample time at the location ensures that I have the flexibility to shoot as many images as necessary to achieve the desired outcome. My goal is to thoroughly document the site, providing a comprehensive visual narrative. This extensive collection allows for a thoughtful selection process to ensure the final images best represent the project.
Collaboration and Guidance
Once the shoot is complete, you have the opportunity to select the images you feel most effectively capture your project’s essence. I am also available to provide guidance, offering my professional opinion on which images I believe truly encapsulated the spirit and objectives of the project on that day. This collaborative process ensures that the final collection of images aligns with your vision and expectations.
